Ball Aerospace companies are under the Defense Advanced research projects Agency (DARPA) project as key components of a space telescope development. The project is aimed at from geostationary orbit satellites to provide persistent tactical missile tracking full motion video monitoring.
DARPA's "thin-film optical imaging instrument development in real time" multi-stage project in geostationary flattened a small diffraction optical coating, will form a huge story Board, used to identify and track "Scud"-class missile launches.
Other key technologies required for the project also includes the ability to handle light structure of optical films and a closer fit, the diffraction lens into a broadband imaging device secondary optical elements and protect the image anti-shake and attitude determination and control system for precise positioning.
